    Looking for Koa

Thanks for the leads, gentlemen. Gene was the one that I was thinking of. I've reached out to him and he's hooking me up with some of the good stuff. Thanks again.

    Looking for Koa

Greetings, fellow knife Dogs. I have a client who has requested koa wood scales for the folding knife that I'm making for him. I'm having a little trouble sourcing some decent wood. I think I saw someone one the forum fairly recently who had some nice koa for sale, but I can't remember who...

    Two New Folders

It's been a while since I've posted any of my work, so I decided to share a couple of folders that I recently finished. My photography skills are horribly lacking, but I did take a couple videos. Let me know what you think.

    Hello from aiken south carolina

Welcome to the forum, Aikenn. I will warn you about the path down the pocket knife/folder lane though. Once you start, there's no turning back. They are absolutely addictive. These guys all work in mansions! I work out of an old converted garden shed, all 77 square feet of it. It just goes...

    A few thoughts on filework

This has been an interesting discussion. I think the takeaway here in my mind as far as we makers are concerned would be to make the very best knife that we are capable of making, especially where fit and finish are concerned. If, after achieving a good fit and finish, one wants to venture out...

Hollow grinding with a slotted plate

I've seen those plates and have always been interested in how they work. I'm afraid that I don't have any experience using them as I have always ground freehand, but I'm interested in understanding this process better. I hope someone will chime in who has used these before.

    Hardness tester

That's the one I use and I love it. I have a small shop and no room for a bench top tester, so I did some research and found this one. It works great and I don't have to dedicate bench space.

    Now and Then

It’s natural Micarta. I think I purchased it from Boss Dog a while back. I can’t remember for sure. It does have that vintage look to it.

    Now and Then

These types of posts are always fun, so I'll play along. The first pic is one of my first folders that I made in 2013 for my Dad who still carries it in his pocket. The second and third pics are of the last knife that I completed.
