If I only knew then....What I know now

If you get in touch with your power company they may send an energy saver kit filled with LEDs to help keep your bill down. The wife did that and now we have led floods and bulbs all over the house and shop

If I only knew then....What I know now

Good to hear your doing good and can keep sharing wisom with us longer. If I knew then what I know now, I would have bought the electric motor and wheels to build a 2x72 grinder. Instead of the stuff to build a vacuum chamber for stabilizing that sat and didn't get used at all.

    Help ID'ing old folder

I have seen some "hobo knives" as they were called by some like that. I had one when I was a kid but in moving and deploying it got lost. I'm just repeating the name I have heard/read them called. There is an actual name for sure but they were the original survival knife...

    Handle question

Dan, if you make a butt cap that has either a threaded portion or an insert/nut there would be a solid brass looking cap, when it in turn has the threads to tighten up. A thick piece of flat brass that has a hole drilled a size smaller than the tap, then tap the threads for your threaded piece...

    Moms new AEB-L skinner

So after 2 days of fighting temperature curing issues with the trueoil I took a break from the battle of patience and cleaned up my finish flaws and picked the leather color that I thought would look good with the lighter wood. I'm lost as to whether I missed a lil bit of dust before applying...

2016 KD Members Choice Awards - NEO TRIBAL / BUSHCRAFT / HAWKS, AXES

I will toss this simple basic bushcraft logic style in as well. Is nothing fancy but used what was on hand. That is what I understand a bushcrafted blade to be? If not let me know and will withdraw it and delete. 8"oal D2 hidden tang blade with fc etch. White tail antler button shed...

    forge for sword making

Its just a propane heater, not a forge. Hahahahahaaa. I don't know how one could survive that type of enviroment since Im a country kid. Privacy fence, and a large flame resistant/retardant work area? Best of luck

    Stabilized wood question

When using cactus juice on end does work better because the direction of the grain allows the air to be removed easier as you found out. I got a jug and am building my chamber and testing it today on some partial punky live oak. Is going to be a long time in the chamber Im sure. Lol. What did...
