Thank you Gliden. One is my first full term knife. I have practiced on many afterward, before the second picture, using various materials, ie., thin plywood, MDF, G10 and steel from the box store. None of which has the same feel as good steel. BTW, both of these were ground and worked post heat...

Thanks Retro! It is a sharp and pointy thing for sure. I like the Jade too, although you can kind of see the lightening holes in the tang if you hold it to some light.

Thank you Andy. Yes, the Kiridashi was my first. I made one out of some G10, playing around with some other designs and then one out of box store steel. Was gifted some O1 steel for the holidays and went at it for real. Made three to try out my new grinder and the first one (shown) turned out...

    Jimping file.

Actually, I have the 20 TPI and its square sides and bottom is less than .0626 (1/16). Thinner that my jewelers files. But they function well and not hard on the thumb.

    Jimping file.

Amazon has 30 TPI checkering files listed. One thing to consider with the fine jimping is, how to clean and sand the grooves after heat treat. Folded sand paper will not do it very well. I have considered sanding cord, but have not tried it. You will ruin the file if you try after HT. Scott

IWB (in the waist band) sheath

Very beautiful knives as well. Are the blades separated from each other within the sheath?

What are your favorite tools for a dremel?

Yes there are those you describe, but there are also these kind. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Dremel-Drywall-Cutting-Bit-560/14299596 I'm not saying that these will work on any or all materials we use, it does look similar to the OP picture. ($6.00)
