If I had to guess: Ths belt bump in the Jflex belts are probably the problem. I only use Jflex on Handles. I use trizac at higher grits they have 95% less belt bump then Jflex.

I tried the magnetic strips and they make the files magnetic and it drove me nuts.

I don't have a photo right now but I have mine in a draw with a rubber matt in it. I place them a 1/2" or so apart and they don't move even if I slam the drawer. The rubber just holds them good

I started using Acraglas after reading some stuff Ed had posted 1year or more ago. Its good stuff way better then anything you can buy in the store.

You can wrap them in foil to avoid decarb. The foil will not effect the slow cooling.

@Chris Railey That's a cool Jig. I defiantly need to make 1 of those. I will put on the my list with the other 50things I need to build o_O … I have screwed up to many knives trying to stamp my name by holding the stamp in my hand. I think it is because my last name has a lot of letter in it

@Sean Jones I think it would not be worth the time to try and turn those pieces into an anvil. But if I wanted to do it. I would probably plug weld each piece together but that would take a long time to do. Also you need a welder that can handle 1/2 thick steel. I think mine max's out at 3/8" plate
