    question re: HT

I think it looks great for a first knife. The recommendations Canesplitter gave are spot on. I would also recommend against finger grooves unless the knife is for a specific person. What may fit your hand perfectly may be uncomfortable for someone else.

    Elmax and Ipe camp knife

Yes I have a shadow on the etch, giving it a 3D effect. The stencil slipped in between etching and marking. I think it looks cool, but I doubt I could do it again if I tried.

    Check your platen

Where To Get New Logo And Stencils

That's the problem, is only getting 8 blades per stencil. A stencil should last much longer. Maybe give IMG a try. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Where To Get New Logo And Stencils

I use to use Ernie but switched to IMG a few years ago. Much better design and stencil life than Ernie and they are cheaper in the long run.

    Kydex sheet thickness?

I use .060" but I know some that use .080" and .090". I just don't think you need that kind of thickness for a knife.

    How Do You Buy Supplies?

I buy stuff as I need or stock up on sales. If I don't get a quantity price break it doesn't make sense to me. I see the guys from Phoenix a couple times a year so I will get stuff from them at the shows. I go to USKMS a couple times a year so I'll just pick stuff up then. Handle material comes...

    Post here for design critique.

I don't draw out anything. My knives look better than my drawings and that isn't saying much. I use a sharpie to sketch an outline of a new pattern on the steel and I then grind it to shape checking it for fit and feel as I grind.

    Blade sanding and finishing

As Nick will say in his video, alternate diagonal directions, and don't switch grits until all the scratches are gone from the previous grit. If after your switch grits and direction you see a scratch from the previous grit, go back and do that grit again. Don't try to get it out with the finer...
