    600 Grit Belts?

Pop's Knife Supply shows the A30 as being 600 grit. I would probably agree with that. I've used the A30 Trizact gator belt in the past, and didn't like it as much. It kind of glazes after a while and stops cutting. It's the only one that I couldn't recommend. The A30 Trizact cloth belt is...

    600 Grit Belts?

I have the 3M Trizact cloth belts in A30, A16, and A6. These are not the traditional gator belts (I have A100 and A45 in the gators.) I find that these belts work really well on blades. I don't use them all the time, though, so I can't speak to durability. On a few knives, I have found that...

Thanks. They are the first ones I have tried doing. The bigger blades are a learning process in themselves.

Decided to take a picture of the things I've been working on during this quarantine while I'm stuck in the house.

    Recovering Damascus pattern on spine

I agree with John. I've done this in the past on some stonewashed knives. The acid will turn anywhere it touches the wood a little black, but with a q-tip you should be able to get pretty close. You could put a line of finger nail polish on the wood as a barrier, and remove it after with some...

    Makers mark etching power source

You'll get quicker results if you can go higher voltages. I usually run mine at about 24V at 5A max output. My power supply will go to 40V, but I don't go that high.

    Anvil

I have had the Kanca 110lb for a couple of years now, and I love my anvil. Understand I don't have a lot of experience with different anvils. I used a couple of others in the Intro to Bladesmithing class, but I enjoy this Kanca every bit as much as any one that I used in class.

    Filling gaps

Also, make sure your tang is completely flat along the edges, and you can never use too many clamps on glue-up.

Hmm. Discouraging. Apparently the video server is hit or miss.
