Who is using a HF Metal cutting bandsaw?

I use the HF and a Milwaukee blade from HD. i like it alot. I added a 6 x 10 aluminum table to it using the same screws that came with the machine. I just clamp mine to a vise but hopefully someday I’ll, have the ambition to make its own stand.

    Can it be too tight.

Ok thanks for the tips. I am Always struggling finding that drill bit just a bit larger than the pin. I think I need to find the pin and drill it’s that work together and stick with that. I have So many different brass pins and mosaic pins I am always going to Home Cheapo to buy bits.

    Can it be too tight.

Sorry for the click bait, but it is really the question. This is in regards to to pins and handles. So the holes I drill in the blades, the pins slide In nicely. But I like it when my pins are just a bit larger that the holes in the wood scales. Then just turn the pin in my drill and sand it...

    Saving sanding belts?

Just wondering if anybody has a method of saving used /marking them.. sanding belts for specific purpose. For example I may use a New ceramic 80 grit to get some nice clean straight bevels. But then when its “used” I will save it for Rough profiling. I hate using new belts for rough profiling...

Oak as a knife handle unpopular?

It seems like oak is not often used by knife makers as scales. Is it because it’s just so common?

    This metal is hard!

I use a Portaband with 14 or 18 blades. I know right away when I need to normalize ( if that’s the right term) the metal to soften it. The blade just rides on itm so the blade never gets hot.
