    Check ebay for knives of similar value. In the 50's and sixties Soligen Germany flooded America with tens of thousands of such blades. Soligen steel was reputed to be a superior steel and just having the Soligen name gave any blade a mystical quality.. I got mine as a birthday present.

    Yes and yes and pasley shirts. I also imagine the Scottish highland fling originated in a blacksmiths/bladesmiths dropping and dodging hot metal in the forge.

    Fyi. Spoiler alert. Mel Gibson, Braveheart, wearing a kilt in 1280 Scotland. TV phantasy. Kilts didn't become fashionable until the 1500's.

    Sorry for Rlol. But in the course of military training if my blade had stained it was drop and give me 20. Any rust was a pit to what ever size and depth the instrucor saw fit.

    Try ULINE at Uline.com. they make cardboard containers of all sorts. The plain white 10L x 3 h x 3w are nice for gift boxes.

    Chris.. No expert but .. Yes it works. Clean, flat steel surfaces. And mild to medium hammer blows to set welds. Surface prep is key. My cycle get to welding temp, soak for a short time to ensure center is to temp, set weld, -- x's 3 . again no an expert but temps are 2200+ for welds. Vic Legg
