That's a nice one Bruce ! I've been giving it some thought lately about maybe learning to do some simple engraving. Everyone starts somewhere :-) The engraving on your piece really sets it off, and I love the deep richness of the handle.

In March I'm going to buy some silver wire and start doing some inlay in a handle or two. And also going to look into a graver. I'm really excited about the options I have now.

Yes it's a solid tire. It sticks pretty well too. I need to make a fourth pin for it, but all in all it works great ! I really like it :-)

I add it just straight from the bottle. No soaking or sealing. It saturates pretty well into the bone on its own. When finished I just buff the handle.

I use leather dye if I want to color antler.

I'm testing later this month in San Antonio for my J.S. I've already made my 5 knives and shown them to Bruce Bump to give me the final say. He said no to two knives. So the first remake of my 5 knives is finished today. Saturday I hope to have the last one completed.

For 2014 I'd like to just pass my JS test in January. If I can manage that I'll be happy. That is all.

Thank you guys ! I'm sure she will enjoy having something of her own. The weight is only two pounds, so for now its a two handed hammer for her. My Pig hammer is a two pounder also and its my main forging hammer. So definitely something to grow into.
