    PID Controlled Tempering Ovens

That's a nifty oven, looks like the max temp and % tolerance would be good. Only downside I see is price, and it's apparently from China. The owners manual may take a bit of interpreting.

    O Paul’s KITH build

OPaul, nice looking knife. Just curious, what's the width of the handle?

    PID Controlled Tempering Ovens

That's correct. And then disconnect the wires going to the oven's temperature sensor and connect new wires to the heating elements, those new wires plug into the back of the controller I mentioned. The PID controller then takes over energizing the heating coils.

    PID Controlled Tempering Ovens

One note programming a PID controller for an oven - it can be a challenge getting the settings right for a oven's unique heat loss. Fortunately some PIDs have a self programming feature that helps a lot with the set up.

    PID Controlled Tempering Ovens

I wouldn't rely on standard oven temperature controllers. Tempering temperatures need to be held to much closer tolerances than conventional oven controllers offer. I converted an old pawn shop table top oven & added a general use, PID controller (plug&play) from Aubers...

    Electro etching machine recommendation

Had I seen that Welch power supply I would have purchased it before the Personalizer. That power supply is totally adequate for etching, plus useful as a general AC/DC supply, with a meter. There's a used unit on Ebay for $50.

    Electro etching machine recommendation

I've been using the Personalizer Plus for several years and it seems to work good. It doesn't seem to lack power to get sufficient etch depth. When my logo isn't of good quality I think it's due to poor cleaning/surface prep or a clogged stencil.

You might consider getting some Boeshield T9 for rust protection, and some Rust Free for rust removal. Works great.

    Arctic Air Mass

We use propane for both the house and shop. The house uses in-floor heating, the shop has an overhead space heater. We set the house at 68 and last night it had a hard time keeping up. I have the shop set at min 55 and bump it to low 60's when I'm working. We're used to -20s for most winters...

Aluminum Quench Blocks, Will This Work?

It seems there are 2 approaches to quenching with aluminum - 1) apply little to no added pressure than the block weight, or 2) apply added pressure with some kind of clamping. In both methods compressed air helps the heat transfer. Tracy has a long video on quenching stainless blades in which...
