I just ordered some blank black anodized aluminum business cards... Gonna laser my own authenticity cards - so I don't have to hand write them lol

    The Laser Thread

I wonder if you could do a deep etch then put some sort of black enamel in it, sort of like what people who do hand engraving do?

    Glass Platen Radius Size?

Yeah I agree with the above... I do my plunges with no radius on my platen edges, makes it crisper imo

What's going on in your shop?

I just used my bandsaw... Was a little chippy when I cut and when I milled flat but the final Sanding removed all that. You just have to leave enough extra to sand down haha

What's going on in your shop?

That looks amazing, still have no clue how you manage that! Reminds me somewhat of JB Blades knives where he carves veins in them! Check out this piece... You can see the carving he does, similar to yours just more involved I suppose. Yours looks killer though on that one you finished recently!

    Mosaic Damascus folder

Absolutely beautiful John! The theme flows so well together. Can't imagine how many hours you have into this build... That backspacer alone had to take forever! Nice work!

    Hello from Grouse Knives

Welcome to KD! Nice looking folder! That lock is interesting, is it a shark lock (demko design), super lock (scnecx design), or something different you came up with on your own?

What's going on in your shop?

Looks great! Seems pretty reflective right now... But I agree a satin finish would be nice on that one too. And I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who works in crocs :D

Anyone Ever Tried to Make One of These?

I've reground a couple of those blade styles... It was developed by Tom Brown in his Tracker knife (for bushcraft) if I'm not mistaken. One important thing to pay attention to when grinding is the transition... Don't do it like they have it in the pic or it will snag and not cut an thing...

    Stone WIP

That's awesome! Wonder if you've seen Kyle Royer's latest knife with a stone handle? Some ideas in it could help you

What's going on in your shop?

Did you grind those hardened this time again? They look great though!! Nice work

How do you get consistent thickness behind the edge on the grinder?

Hmmm... Does it only happen with certain belts? And if so which belts (and grit level) did u you experience it on? I also wet grind and most 120 grit ceramics tend to want to cup out at the edges, causing the outer edges of the belt to gouge into the blade when you first make contact.

How do you get consistent thickness behind the edge on the grinder?

It just takes practice... Subtle changes in pressure to get what you want. Also you need to make sure your platen is flat that can cause some issues sometimes, although I don't think it will cause what you pictured.
