Works Rests, Platens and Chillers Sale!

Yeah I run wet on my steel frame and it's NOT good hehe, I finally disassembled and painted everything so it's much better now. But I do have a trough under the wheels and guards so most everything is captured (except for when I do flood coolant :))

Works Rests, Platens and Chillers Sale!

If I need it I'm just gonna grind the end of the table myself... Should go quick with a 36 grit belt :D

A new work rest just hit the market

Yep it will work perfect and swing out of the way for ya when you do tool arm changes (if you ever do ) the rigidity of the entire unit is pretty awesome as well.

A new work rest just hit the market

OK so the center of the table to the center of the arm is 7.5"

A new work rest just hit the market

Whats the distance from the center of the work rest arm to the center of the tool rest arm? Btw that is a cool piece of history right there!! How old is that thing?! Can't believe that contact wheel is running on pillow blocks lol

A new work rest just hit the market

They are up on his site, I think he will list them here tonight maybe. He's got a black Friday/intro sale going on right now. Anyway, post a Pic of your grinder and I'll see if it would work but I'm pretty sure it would accommodate the offset position no problem.

A new work rest just hit the market

Yeah it's pretty incredible, I don't know how I could use any other work rest now without getting frustrated with the shortcomings lol Yep good point, those could probably be ground in by the end user to be specific to whatever wheel set up they had.

A new work rest just hit the market

I posted this elsewhere but figured I'd post it up here too. This post is basically functioning as a review/intro Hey guys, really excited about this but first - full disclosure. I have had Darren Nutt (Owner of Contender Machine Works) do some lathe work for me on contact wheels in the past...

Best knife steel selection article in the history of knife making ever?

I love Larrin's research. It's one reason I keep finding myself gravitating to cruwear and m390 (now magnacut) for a highly balanced steel for most tasks.

Any of y'all forging with an induction heater?

House/work on YouTube uses induction for forging, seems to work great ‍♂️

    WTB 2x72 belt grinder

Maybe I wasn't clear - I don't actually have a Reeder grinder, I ONLY have their SGA :) and I'm sorry I didn't mean tool arm but rather tool arm work rest. But regarding that... when you look at ones like Wilmont makes or NRT the Reeder one really seems to be lacking in the capability arena...

    WTB 2x72 belt grinder

Reeder is amazing quality (I only own the surface grinder attachment fyi) and absolutely top notch customer service... But while I do like their grinder I find their tool arm to be leaving something to be desired imho. Other than that though it would also be my first choice probably

    My PayPal alternative!

Good write up thanks!! The problem I've found with most payment gateways and merchant services is that they don't allow for a simple way to send online, custom invoices that allow the customer to pay with a card without setting up any account.
