Nice build Coyote_killer2013
Is that spring position creating enough tension? Looks like it needs to be shortened up a bit and brought back some on the lower connection...could just be me though?
Thanks for clearing that up John and Michael,
I think I will look towards a different Mill now. knowing that the G0704 is that light I want one with some more weight to dampen vibration for better cuts.
I still can see this unit working for knife making if all your doing with it is slotting...
Here is a good tutorial on Hot Salt Bluing for those of you wanting to try it out.
If done right it turns out a quality finish.
I agree with Chris that either Hot Salt Bluing or Rust Bluing is far more durable then Nitre Bluing.

I have been reading up on Mills and the G0704 is one that I am seriously looking at getting as well. I like the DRO on spindle feature and the Square Column. I just haven't figured out if the X,Y and Z capacities will be enough for what I plan on doing in the future.
The weight doesn't seem...
I did this on a knife I re-handled awhile ago, using steel wool in between coats to stabilize. Then used a few coats of Tru-Oil to finish. It turned out nice. Id share a picture of the finished results but I cant seem to find them right now.
I have been using Bondo Polyester Fiberglass Resin ( http://www.acehardware.com/product/index.jsp?productId=1414937&CAWELAID=109384216 ) and the cheap wax paper from the Dollar Tree with great results.
The wax paper peels off nicely and I haven't had a problem with the resin setting up...
