    Handle process WIP

This final knife. I had a hard time getting some of it cleaned up, but learned that I won't do filework on the ricasso area of the liners again. Just to difficult to get right.

    Bolster Pins that don't show

Is stainless harder to get the pins to hide than in brass? I do it slightly different, but I am working brass, so I was wondering if that is why it seems to go so well. I thought the pin press was a neat idea though.

    Fixed blade

The fun part about this project for me was trying to do the rear bolster with one pin and using the thong tube as the other pin. I put a tight fit on the tube and then spent some time flaring out the tube to make it all fit seamlessly.

    Handle process WIP

Okay, part two. I have removed the scales and shaped the fronts. Sanded and polished. I then unpinned the scales and cut the file work all the way around the copper liner. Fixed blade

I had to look up the Shark tooth as well. I have never seen that one before, though I see the resemblance. The one I carry is the smaller trapper model with black G10 handles. The blade shape is fairly close to the same except larger in all directions. I think I have learned to take knife...

    Fixed blade

Finished this knife this week. feel free to critique. The blade shape is inspired by a Case folder I carry. It is close to 8 inches overall. 1084 carbon steel, green bone handles and brass bolsters. The handles were jigged but I had to grind the jigging out and then re-cut them. It has a...

    Hello from Nebraska

My name is Tell Deatrich and I am from south west Nebraska. I learned to make knives from a retired shop teacher who is a great mentor. I am just starting out in the world of knife making, but have managed to sell a few here and there. I am trying new things and attempting to make something...
