Hey Bruce you can make a revolver just make it a black powder like the old navy revolvers were you load the powder and ball..lol..I know you can do it.

Hey George,I have one of these in my shop.Bought it when I first started out.Cracked the crank as soon as I started using it even though we set it up with a spring system so it could be used as a hammer.Been trying to figure out how to convert it into a hydraulic press now.

Gonna guess that it is some type of powder coat process or screened on pattern or a computer generated laser etching..but the same could be hade by using some spray crackle paint,then maybe etch using the paint as a resist,deep etch then remove the resist darken in the etching then lightly etch...
