Fairbairn Sykes inspired custom dagger

This is a Fairbairn Sykes inspired dagger that I did recently. It is 80CrV2 steel that has been gun blued. The handle is white oak. The cross guard and pommel are both mild steel. Everything was forged and fabricated in my shop.

Dagger grinds always amaze me. They take so much skill to get both sides even with center coming out at the tip. You've done a good job - congrats.

Since I don’t have a lathe I used my drill press. I improvised a jig with a 6”x3/16” bolt and a couple of nuts and washers to hold the piece in place. One day I will get a lathe but adapt and overcome until then.

Yes sir daggers and karambits are very difficult to get right on. I think I lose a couple months off my life every time I make one

its worth it that is a beautiful blade that i would think is easily worth a few years
