Finally got some shop time this afternoon (was 105* so I didn't cut, split or stack firewood.)
This first pic is pretty helpful (to me, anyway!) of an angle grinder calculator (http://dcknives.com/public/grind_angle.php)

Looking good BJ, while I don't use a jig I got to say I like the way you got that one set up, it looks like your working it pretty good.

That looks really nice! And thanks for the link on the grind angle calculator. I've been trying to do it in my head to no avail. That gets me where I need to be.

Your filing jig is pretty sweet. Way more flexible than the one I started with. Dan Comeau's site is also full of useful information. Just wish he'd update more often these days.

Thanks Heikki. The jig is always being "tuned" to better suit the current project. I wonder if it will ever be done. And you're also correct about Dan Comeau site. Alot of useful information there.

Bjmac...when you finish do you wrap the file with sandpaper and to keep from rolling edges?

Ted, I don't wrap the files . When I start sanding , I use small metal backers that are shaped to different contours. I'll post s pic later and show you.

I think this one is going to be a " gentleman " or perhaps a "gamblers " Bowie. Compared to what the other guys are showing , mine is just a little guy..... but he's gonna be a bad ass little guy!
