The sgian dubh is the Scotish sock knife when wearing the Kilt. It was traditional to disarm when in anothers home but being a bit cautious it also became traditional to have a small knife in their sock "just in case" .Like how you rotated your makers mark for those two...looks better on them.

to take out the mother-in-law...? (jk...of course) but I can't think of a good use for a sock knife at a wedding...I believe they are used in Scottish wedding ceremonies as well.
