Multi-platin

I bought a Multiplatin for my Reeder Grinder from Polar Bear Forge a few months back. Getting around to getting to putting it together. 4" rubber wheel on the bottom 2" rubber wheel on the top, has a flat platen (still need to drill and tap to mount it) you can rotate wheels to use them independently, and if you rotate around to back side you can use as a slack belt! It seems to track awesome but I have not loaded the belt yet to see how it will really track. Needs a couple small spacers and washers for the wheels and a tweak or 2! I think it will be awesome when finished and cut down on change overs from arm to arm.

Still not done but close need to drill 2 holes and tap them for the platent.

Pictures finally!! You can see I can loosen bolt in middle of platen and rotate the larger or smaller wheel forward to use independently pr, I can rotate 180deg to use as slack belt. The idea is to cut down on tooling changes. Hope it works!

So the Multi-Platant is more or less done. As you can see in the pics I can rotate platen for flat grind on platent, over to a 2" rubber wheel, to a 4" rubber wheel or rotate it 180 deg to use as a slack belt. Left room on 4" wheel side of platent so I can go to a 6" wheel if I want. I played with it a little it tracks excellent even under load, still need a few more shorter screws for the brackets holding the platent, going to get a brass bushing for between the arm and platent so it wont scratch the heck out of the arm. I will eventually drill and tap the bottom of the platent for a small piece of steel so I'll have a small shelf for the hi temp platen glass. This should cut down on arm changes considerably. I should only have to change out for my small wheel attachment!
