what is a good material (stable, cheap, easy, etc.) for making templates? I've seen plywood, paper, plastic, and more I just want to know more about what everyone else is using and why chose one over the other.
ust the sides cut from old whiteware. (washing machines etc.)
Yep...and the THINNER the template (like sheet metal) the more accurate the tracing....Gruff that is genius, I like to re-purpose material like that too. Perfect free template material.
Yes, the scribe marks the exact size so when I am down to the line with the 60grit belt I can just remove the line with120 then do the blade edge with 220 and the profile is doneYep...and the THINNER the template (like sheet metal) the more accurate the tracing....
Once I have made my pattern in 1/4 inch customwood I transfer it to sheet metal which is just the sides cut from old whiteware. (washing machines etc.)
