My Girl and I moved finally to my House this weekend! Just putting away stuff etc... Was able to work on another small EDC tonight, profiled it last week at lunch did bevels, drilled all the holes in the Tang and got it sanded down to 500 grit, ready for heat treat!

Can't wait to get shop organised again! And start turning out some blades, get used to the new grinder etc...
 
Very nice work. Your grinds are looking good! 500 grit - you are putting me to shame, I stop at 400. :)

Normally I stop at 400 too, I ran out of 400 but had the 500 so that's what I used!! LOL!! Time to call Super grit!! Getting use to the new Grinder and Bubble Jig! I get going with the Jig and then start thinking to much and get a little wonkie with the grind. Good thing is I'm getting use to the Jig and am getting my process down. I think I'm gonna try getting the initial bevel going with jig, switch to a smaller angle on the Jig get a good flat going on the bevel both sides and then free hand the rest? Like I said need to get the process down and the progression threw the grits on the paper.

Is that 500 grit hand sanded or belt sanded. The picture looked like the sanding marks were going longitudinal so I thought hand finished.
 
This is what I have going in my shop now, with two blades quenched and hand finished not shown in this pic since I didn't have the scales mounted.

Yep hand finished! This is the way I've been doing my blade scince the new grinder. 80g, 120g, Trizac belts 100, 65 and 45 then hand sand 400 up to 600 depending on my mood or supplies (LOL!!) And intended purpose. You have a couple things going on there buddy!!
 
Well it has been over the course of the last several weeks of work! :) I got the scales sanded to 400 grit this morning.
