Kife with Leopard wood

The way I see it...............we were just educated with years of hands on experience. If these guys lived near by, beers and burgers would be on me :)
There are some very knowledgeable people on here. I don't post advice much. Just like you I'm still just a newbie. I have been at this for just over a 1-1/2 years and haven't completed 25 knives yet. So take my advise for what it is. A new guy trying to help shorten other new guys learning curve.

Ty..........If I can be anywhere close to your craftsmanship in 2 years I'll be fortunate! Your work is absolutely beautiful. My problem ( along with many more ) is impatience. I need to learn to slow down and smell the flowers or maybe feel the burn. I can say though that I've learned to sharpen a knife pretty good now, something I had trouble with prior to knife making.

You'll get there just be patient and don't be afraid to make a mistake and start over.

Hey guys. I'm still immensely enjoying my retirement hobby! Still a few more tweaks on this one but I like the way it turned out. There is still more to learn and improve on but it's a pleasure to take a flat bar and turn it into a knife.
I'm still fussing with the grind lines, especially weak side to strong side. I also tried grinding after heat treat. I'll have to try a couple more before I decide which way I prefer. I do believe the wheel is the best way to rough shape the handle, at least for me.
This knife has leopard wood scales, ss pins and lanyard tube.
Great thread guys!
This knife has beautiful lines, the pins and lanyard hole are perfect looking. with a little cleaner grind this would be a knife guys would be buying as fast as you made 'em. Good eye Opaul!
