    Here are a couple of photos of the blade I made for my father for Christmas. The steel is Alabama Damascus, (random pattern) 416 layers. The handle is clear stabilized Amboyna Burl. I used brass and Stainless for pin material.

    THanks Ausbrooks, I used 11oz Oak-tanned leather on the base layer (belt contact), then I put down the magnets(imbedded them in the 11oz.). Next I barge cemented a layer of very thin oak-tanned mask leather over the magnetes. I used 8oz oak-tanned leather for the welt and and outter layer...
