What size of small wheel do you guys use the most on your small wheel attachment? I was thinking either 1/2" or 3/4". I would be using it to clean up the index finger area of the handle and I would also use it for roughing the extra handle material from that area.

Haha, it's actually being paid for by my other cousin (his brother) so it's not totally free. I am giving him a good deal though since he has the drill press that I've been using for my knives. I'm finally getting my own though. :)

How hard would it be to set up the 1.5hp motor to the grinder?

I was thinking about getting a Pheer grinder. The price difference would be about 150-200 to upgrade the motor.

Would a 1hp motor on a variable speed 2x72 be adequate for most grinding applications? i wouldn't be doing much profiling, just bevels, handles, and stuff. I know the Grizzly 2x72 has a 1hp motor and tons of people use that. I'm using a 1x30 with a less than 1/3 hp motor right now so any upgrade...

Wanna send me that 8" wheel then? :P It sounds like I wouldn't really need it right away since I won't be hollow grinding. I also can use the wheels on the flat platen to do light grinding.

I was thinking about getting a 2x72 sometime and was wondering about contact wheels. Would you guys say that they are totally necessary to get? I would be getting most of my blades water jet cut so I wouldn't have to do a ton of profiling. Would shaping handle scales be much easier with one? I...

How do you guys prepare and glue you liners to scale material? I've heard of people using both superglue and epoxy.
