Has anyone tried using a magnet to catch the steel dust? I used to work in a restaurant where they had these magnetic inserts that fit right on top of the garbage can. If any silverware was dumped into the garbage it would stick to the side. Here's a photo of it. [/URL]

Are you sure you got the funnel tank from Harbor Freight? I can't seem to find it on their site... or anywhere else.

Thanks for the info. I had no idea about the aluminum & steel mixture being dangerous. That is a something that I really needed to know. I also make training blades out of aluminum. I think I'll try that Harbor Freight funnel tank for the steel and a shop vac for the aluminum, wood & micarta.

I love brass. I couldn't imagine using the same materials over and over. Sometimes I'll look at piece of Maple Burl and it's just screaming for brass. Stainless, nickel silver, copper, brass... I use and love then all.

I just put my maker's mark in one 440 blade and everything went fine. I set up the next 440 blade and now my machine isn't etching. All the lights are on and working I'm using the same etching solution on the same 440 stainless. How do I troubleshoot this? I can't figure out why this etching...

Wayne, Thanks for the reply. I've set the hp jumper to 2 and the volts to 115v. The motor says 3450 rpm (not 1800 rpm). Do I still need to switch the J4 jumper to 2X? The Beaumont site never mentions the J4 jumper.

I just unboxed my new Variable Speed KMG-10 and I'm having a little trouble figuring out the electrical wiring. I have the 2 hp motor but I will be running it on standard 110 until my shop is wired for 220. The site says the motor will run at a max of 1.5 hp when connected to standard 110...
