Wilson 4jr hardness tester questions and help

Hello y'all! I just recently picked up a wilson 4jr hardness tester from a retired guage maker for a steal. It came with everything included, all the weights, multiple tips, anvils, the works. However it is reading 1-2 point low on the test blocks. I know nothing about these machines or how to calibrate them. So I was hoping one of you fine folks would know more. Any knowledge and help is appreciated!

Try the oil dash pot (should be 4-5 seconds to fall and sometimes you need to adjust the level near the dial as well so it reads correctly, especially after transporting it!

I know little to nothing about the calibration end of it. I know there are companies that can calibrate it but its very expensive. After trying what Taz suggested if you know the calibration blocks are correct and the correct scale maybe you could move the label where the dial is? Someone suggested this to me but I figured out that mine was not calibated in "C" scaleeeven though I had a C scale test block that came with the machine! I got the correct scale block and it was good. So if I do use the tester I have to convert the scale to C from a table. It's been so long since ive used it I don remember the scale its calibrated to!!

Try the oil pot, it can be a bit annoying to put together. Try to reduce friction in the moving parts, your forces are more accurate then. Sorry, that's all I got.

Have you checked the Index Lever Adjustment as shown on page 10 of the manual linked to on the other forum? While that manual has lots of good info, it doesn't seem to cover much on calibration.

I've got good detailed calibration instructions for the HR-150 clone, but not sure if it has anything to do with the 4JR
