What wood is this?

If you like a deep russet color with some chatoyance you'll love it plus there's no reason to stabilize it. Down side is that sanding it on a grinder puts a fine yellow dust all over your shop. I'd recommend hand tools, but then, I always recommend hand tool for shaping and finishing handles.

yup! I would be great if you use handtools to shaping and finishing handles and some smoothness look!
