I like it, looks good

I like your idea with the metal slabs and wing nuts to keep your plunge lines even, i may have to try that one

good job!!

Great looking knife.
I like your WIP.
Can you tell me what the jig is in picture #8
where you are doing the file work.
again very nice job.

thanks guys, i'm glad you liked it.

Laurence, D2 is Semi-Stainless it has 11.5% chromium, it's not the ideal steel for water but it's the best steel i can sand out to HT here.

John, it's not realy a jig, the black serrated thing in the background is a thread repair file, the idea was that i would use the eight different thread sizes to make jimping, but the file is not hardend to cut steel, so i just use it to scribe the distances on the spine and then use a regular file on the marks.

very nice i like the design and D-2 is my personal favorite.....thanks for showing all your work in getting it done

Lee,
I was thinking of M-4 for some reason.
Niagara Specialties Metals list's their CPM-D2 at 12% Chromium .
I have used this steel many times on my Culinary Knives and it is great! Holds a wicked edge!

That's beautiful, but I'm a sucker for a harpoon wharny with orange grips and a swedge

One thing I liked was that you left a bit of flat on the grip on either side of the spine/tang; its a small thing perhaps but it just looks right to me.
