It is great to work and I would say about half as difficult as micarta and even a little easier than some woods. I love the feel of it in hand. On the field scalpels and ordinary knives I use pins as normal but on the safari knives I use torx screws which is standard for that model as many have micarta scales (although I have done one with brass bolster and wanut scales that were pinned) and the torx screws are for a possible future replacement set of scales from the new owners trophy horn, antler or bone.
The safari knife
and the little field scalpel(the handle has been redesigned to have a little more roundness for in hand comfort.
This is a comparitive pic of both knives in micarta and the redesigned handle shape.
