Stitch protection

got some good advice here a while ago regarding snaps and keeper straps; i have a question now about how you guys may protect the stitching of your belt loops on pouch style sheaths - as i make them now, the stitching is exposed on the inside of the sheath, possible vulnerable to being cut by the knife blade it holds. tell me, do you guys cover this stitching with leather, or have some other means to protect it? thanks!

I fold the loop to the sheath, drill the stitch holes, then cut a flap through the holes on the inside of the sheath. This flap will be folded over the stitches and super glued after the loop is sewn to the sheath. Here are a few pictures.

I hope I explained this well enough.

I wet the iside of the sheath a little and then I can pull the stitching into the leather so it is below the surface so there is no danger of cutting it when returning the knife to the sheath.

thanks, guys, i'll have to experiment with your methods and see what works for me. mike
