Stabilizing wood at home

If I have a one or two gallon chamber but I only need to stabilize a small amount of wood can I use a smaller container inside the vacuum chamber to hold everything?

Yes...works fine. One thing I discovered with Cactus Juice is it seemed to work better with end grain at top and bottom...
