Hay guys I finally scored a sweet 10" chase style splitter on eBay, picks later. But as you may have guessed the blade has seen better days, years of miss-sharping. This blade does not look that complicated to make? 10x1.5x1/8th" steel beveled 7/8th of a inch out from the back side to the edge. I have a few friends I can ass to make me one but I thought I'd ask here first as someone here may know someone with experience making splitter blades? Also any ideas on what type of steel would make the best blade for a splitter? Steel has come a long way in the past 100 years since this blade was made. I was thinking D2, or ALB or O1?
