Small Slicer/Cleaver

KNIFE MAKER
As I said in another post I love cleavers. I started this one a couple of days ago and just finished polishing the Wenge scales. This was flat stock and I did some forging along the bevels and left hammer marks on the flats (just because I like the looks). Brass pins and red micarta liners, 1095 steel.

That looks super nice, nice job with the applied crue de forge! The limes don't stand a chance! :)

As a former butcher, I love cleavers also. I used to be able to part up a whole chicken in 3 seconds flat. Ok I'm lying about that part. I love that cleaver. Especially the notch!!

Are those hammer marks or an acid technique? I don't forge but I want to get that look on a knife some day.

Now that you mention it- yes! But no, I just thought it looked cool. ;)
It does look cool. Did you round the end of the split a little? Maybe with a file or something it looks like you did. That would keep it from cracking there later. Its a really cool blade.

why is that glass empty!?

Great looking cleaver... A mini-clever is on my list of blades to try. What's the OAL on this one?

thanks, Andy
