Sheath #2 and #3

So, after watching a few video tutorials and reading everything that posted my my previous sheath-question-thread, I was able to put these two together. The leather is 8/9 OZ #2 shoulder. I thank you for any advice and/or critique that you can offer. Thanks.

Thanks Josh, I'm actually liking leather better than kydex. Sure it takes more time and more tools but it has a certain look of class that you don't get from thermo-form-plastics.

Nice job on both of them. One thing I would do is make it all from the same peice of leather instead of sewing on a belt loop but that's just the way I do it.

The sewed on belt loop, IMO, is superior to the 1-piece sheath in that if anything ever happens to the belt loop, you can simply pull the stitching and apply a new one. With a 1-piece, if you cut or damage the belt loop...you're pretty much screwed.

That, and it looks more professional to me. I've made a couple of the 1 piece designs, per customer request, but I'd rather do the other.

Thanks guys for the tips and encouraging words. As for the belt loop, I tend to gravitate toward the two piece for the aesthetics of it and since lining the sheath isn't an option right now, it looks much nicer to me to have the flesh side down and away from sight.

Mike, you can smooth and burnish the flesh side quite nicely so it's not all fuzzy and frizzy. Agreed, it's not as pretty as the top side, but it can be made to look a bit better :).

Thanks for the tip Grizz, I'll have to try that next time. By they way, the knife you sent me is pretty great and comes in handy when cutting leather up for sheaths and the sheath is a darn good example from which to work.
