Scale Ideas

I’m playing around with “Gollardo” style scales. These are desert ironwood with Blackwood and white paper spacers. I plan to put these on the boning knife that I’m making. I pictured it below also. Let me know what y’all think. Personally I think I should’ve made the Blackwood a little bit thinner.

No not scale thickness.. I mean that I think the black part of the handle is too wide maybe

Thank, OP! There a maker named Josh Gollardo... you should google him if you don’t know of him. Ty Adams first introduced me to this guys work. He’s currently one of my favorites. Super clean grinds and careful attention to color pretty much define this guy. He’s awesome!

very nice! I also like the thicker bands of wood rather than the thin ones. I also believe it's a good way to make it your own. That's the difference between being inspired by someone versus biting off their style.

Genes Osage orange and Purple Heart .... trying to do a classy LSU theme. Am not shooting for “LSU” type stuff. I’m not sure if I like it. The wood is incredible though!
