Thanks Laurence, who is Sam Brown anyway?

Eric, good question maybe Sam B. knows, just kidding.

I'm not sure if there is a name for this style sheath or maybe I made a big mistake.
Inside Waste Band (IWB) or belt.

Many scabbards were and still are IWB, Or Sash, Not everyone use to wear a belt.

A British Officer, This is from Wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sam_Browne_belt

Police, Military etc have used that term for many Many years.

Captain Sam Browne truly came up with a better way to work around his war inflicted disability.

I prefer it to noisy snaps and Velcro etc..

Just for clarity I/We are referring to the frog post;s that are used on the belt to attach it or it's straps together.

I never wear a belt. Braces are the only option. Do these sheaths use a frog or you do you wear one?

I like the stud idea as a hold down on a large knife. I especially like how you maintained the strip of leather as part of the original sheath instead of it being sewn in separately! I am going to have to remember that one!
