Rosewood handle bush knife

A friend of mine is having a birthday today, so I've been working on this knife for her. I had a hunk of rosewood around the shop, so I used it for handle material. I never realized how oily and resinous rosewood is, even years-old stuff.

The lighting in this picture is terrible, but you might be able to make out that the handle has a nice little shine to it. I didn't do anything to finish it other than sand down to 400 grit and hit it on my buffer wheel once or twice. I imagine I could get a really nice gloss if I buffed it again with paste wax, but I don't know how that would feel in the hand.

Any thoughts?
