Rawhide Questions?

I want to start covering some sheaths in rawhide and need to place an order for some stock. I welcome any input.
Sources?
Weight?
Bleached or natural?
I have seen some short tutorials on rawhide sheaths and I wonder if there is a book(s) on the subject.

Mike, try www.hideandfur.com. They have rawhide from several different species so you should find the thickness that you want. He also has a good selection of bones, claws, beads, etc.

Hey Cooter; Believe it or not, I get my rawhide through Tandy Leather Co. If you've got one near you go see them, and if you don't, check out there website. Some of their stuff I wouldn't use, but I can't complain about the rawhide or leather.

Yes Dave I read the tutorial along with some others. I have been looking for more detailed info, specially books. Chuck Burrows told me he might make a new CD this spring that will cover rawhide among other things. For now, I am just going to jump in head first and see what happens.
