How do you Grind/File in your bevels??

I'm trying to convince myself to try cutting a bevel on my 1x30 but I don't know if it has enough grunt?? Or if I have a steady enough hand? I see people doing it on YouTube all the time, so "It must be true!!"

Here is my most recent knife. Recycled old high carbon saw blade as found - pitted, so I left it in the blade for character and plus I like the look, this is my favorite to date and will be my edc.
