Patch knife and rawhide

R Appleby

KNIFE MAKER
A fun and simple project and I enjoy making primitive styled knives. I think this turned out very period.

Patch knife

Blade; 4 inch antiqued saw steel

Bolster; poured pewter

Handle; Whitetail deer

OAL: 8 inches

Sheath; 8/9oz leather wrapped in rawhide

Thanks for looking

Well done. I especially like that it doesn't have all the adornments on it. Don't get me wrong I like some of the sheaths that have beads, cones, etc.. But this one looks more like a real user from that period, in my opinion.

Yeah that's nice. Period pieces are always cool to me. Can't wait to do a rawhide sheath myself.
