Out source for heat treatment

I took a long hiatus from knife making ... life ... but now I'm headed back in, and have more time to actually give it better attention. Way back then there was a guy who I believe was a fellow Knife Dog, who I sent my work to for treatment, and I cannot for the life of me find any info on him.

So for those that out source the HT step, to whom are you sending your work? Thanks!

What kind of steel are you looking to heat treat?

I use Bos Heat Treat. Others use Peters, especially if they have a batch to do of the same steel. Jarod Todd does heat treating again, but just does a snap temper and you can temper fully when you get them back.

Another vote for Bos. The larger your "batch of same steel" the better the price.

I paid around $282 for 43 blades, mixed steel, and some longer blades, in my last batch from Bos.
