been hanging out here just a while, and noticed this intro thread. thought it the civil thing to do, introduce meself.
been a lifelong knife user/luster. fortunately my pops didnt see any reason a girl shldnt carry a knife, nor know how to use em. same with guns and hunting and camping and fishing. he didnt push me but it was always clear i was welcome to come and learn if i wanted. he taught me lots over the yrs. made sure if i was gonna carry or own knives n guns, i knew how to use em and take care of em. as a young adult i started to get into collecting knives. my grandad and a cupla uncles had also given me knives. mostly older pocket knives, you all know the names...later took a hankering for fixed blades, then found the world of customs. oh dude was i in trouble then. just saying. never been into "art" knives. tho i have seen some that are lovely. mostly yr basic hunter style, homegrown, rugged. tho i do also own a few in the "tactical" field.
most of my knives over the yrs have been users. i mean i use knives on a daily basis. tho i do have a few that rarely see the light of day. just to be fondled upon occassion. if you look at the "edc" thread you'll see what i carry day to day. yup, right up there with yr typical knife knut. peace out
