Makers mark

Can someone please advise me as to the pros and cons of a cold stamped mark vs. an electro-etched mark?
Currently I do not forge blades, only stock removal, so to me, those two make sense.
I really need to start marking my work. I have access to a laser etcher but it’s time consuming and lacks consistency.
Thanks

Traditionally, forged blades are stamped, and stock removal blades are etched....but there are no hard/fast rules. The important things are to mark your blades clearly, so they are readily identifiable to anyone who sees them. (I've harped on the subject of name versus logo forever). Also, consistency.... whether it's stamped or etched, make the marking as similar as possible on all your knives. The idea being to put yourself in the place of someone who doesn't know you, or your knives....... you want the mark to convey information that will allow an individual to find you as easily as possible...... if they can't EASILY find you, they can't order a knife from you.
