I am looking to make or buy a horizontal sheath with fire steel and sharping stone holder for a gerber big rock. Anyone have any plans, or places for me to go?

Before you get the usual response to your first post, I'll go ahead and say it... You might wanna go introduce yourself in the Intro section just to let us all know who you are and where you're from... It just helps people warm up to answering questions faster. :)

As for making the sheath, below is a link that helped me learned before I tried...

There are several online leather suppliers, and lots of local Tandy stores to buy leather and supplies from. You are going to get lots of different opinions on suppliers, but I have a Tandy close to my house, so they are my choice for convenience.

Get heavy (8-10oz) leather. And when you are designing, especially for horizontal carry, you have got to design in some good retention. Whether it is a good tight wet-form, or a snap-loop is up to you.

Yes, please do go introduce yourself before jumping in. It lets us get to know you better. :)

The first thing we do need to know before any advice can be given on sheathmaking is, what do you want it made out of?
