Little Elk Handled Skinner

KNIFE MAKER
It's been great getting back into the shop and the weather here in NC is very pleasant, aside from the pollen. I just finished this little skinner. Elk scales with brass pins. I used 1075 steel and tried for a hamon. The hamon didn't come through so left it with a scotch brite finish.

Looking good! How is the Elk antler to process?
I like using it but it does have s lot of pith or at least this one did. I split the roll down the middle on my band saw and then flattened them in the disc sander. I used quick setting super glue (or whatever it’s called) to harden the pith areas before setting the scales with epoxy.
