Leather id?

I am trying to tell if some leather I just got is veg tanned or not. I got it with some leather tools I bought.

Reasearch on the internet makes me think it is veg tanned because it is the very thick tooling type of leather. The guy had cut some of it into belt blanks. It is thick prob 8-9 oz, non dyed/stained. Compared to the leather I just got from Tracey it is just a little darker.

Reasearch on the internet says that typically leather that you buy for toolong/stamping is veg tanned.

Any thoughts?

If it's somewhat stiff and takes tooling well it is most likely Veg-tan. Chrome tan is usually more supple.
