Here' a knife I finished (with the exception of sharpening and etching my clover logo - I do that after the sheath is finished) the other day. Drop point hunter in 1075 (Rc 55-57), stainless guard, stainless loveless bolts and white micarta handle. It was originally handled in an "artificial ivory" but I ruined that by cracking it when forcing one of the loveless "nuts" in, and had to rehandle it - glad it was salvageable. Comment and critique always welcome; I hope you like it. Mike

Very nice! That’s hollow ground, right? I cracked fake ivory and fake pearl.... then went back to wood, micarta and g10. I’m now 99.99% wood. Good job contouring the handle and jimping.

thanks, kevin. it's flat ground - may look hollow in the photo due to my less than perfect grinding and bad photography :)
i've only recently used much material other than wood; i still think it's the best overall material.

Very nicely executed. A a Loveless style hunter is on my shirt list to make. I’ve downloaded some patterns and almost ready to start.

Very nice job Michael.

Kevin, You can safely use faux stuff, and real stuff, if you drill your holes for a slide fit and do not try to flare your pins. Ring the pins by putting them in a drill press and using 100 grit sand paper, cut rings around the pins for the glue to grab onto. Glue the pins in without peening.

Thank you, Mark. Both times that I busted the scales I was peening. I never thought about ringing the pins... that’s smart. Thanks for the info!
