lanyard knots...

No matter how tight and clean you tie them behing a knob...I think they're somewhat ugly. (I think they look okay with no knob...working as the knob...but they detract from a knob) My son is my lanyard guy and has been playing with melting the end of the knot and then rolling it on a piece of steel to shape it a little.

I made a new style lanyard knob with a C'bore in it and then made a "doming mold" out of an old 1/2-13 bolt using a 1/2 ball endmill.

I like the look and will probably finish all my lanyards with knobs this way...otherwise a lanyard and simple knot will do.

Looks good, but if an owner decides he's like to remove lanyard, is the only way to cut it? Can't untie knot? That does look nice 'n clean. I'll have to think about it some. Being a grouchy old man I'm usually slow on new ideas.

He can cut it...re-tie it...and still hide the knot it the counterbore...he will have to buy some new paracord if he wants the original length.
