Week 1 was won by Ebbtide with this entry...

A brilliant background choice contrasted perfectly with the sheath colors.
Including two sheaths made you think a bit. The composition was balanced just right. Focus across the entire image was sharp.

Week 2 Buddy Thomason

Classic composition (a big X) with HDR colors across the knife handle and gun stock really make it pop. The blurry hide in the upper right gave this image a nice depth of field not typically seen in knife photo's. Someone said "the knife is right in your face". It is and I think that helped give it the win this week...

Both deserving winners. I,m really enjoying the photos each week. Its cool to see folks posting their best shots.

Bruce Evans would enjoy seeing his knife won in the photo contest

Winner Week 3 Photo Contest J. Doyle

Nice background that adds to the feel of the picture but isn't distracting.
The hand tied flies and trout rod complement the black line spalted wood handle.
The image has great colors and lighting. Looking at the upper right picture, the lighting looks like an early sunrise.
Even though there are a lot of props in this picture and you have to look around to take it all in... your eye goes right to knife....where it is supposed to.

Self Made Knives won week 4 - Insets...
This one turned traditional inset pictures upside down by making the inset the "main" image.
A technically satisfactory picture with a brilliant composition in how the inset was used.

Cory Martin walked away with this weeks theme - Composites...
Great color choices, perfect lighting and the knife images were crisp end to end.
Finish that off with a nice digital "embossed" frame and you have a winner.

Fcarter shows us one that just doesn't look right until you realize it's a miniature resting on some life size eggs...A stunning knife with the perfect background to show off the scale...the colors all go together perfectly.

Fcarter comes back with a clear win in the Black and White week contest...
This high contrast image has lots of detail that plays exactly into a black and white image.

Week 9 winner

fcarter again.....this guy has serious skills

Traditional Japanese Tanto's with a little extra treatment...
The colors are clean across the image. Grain detail in wood can be difficult to pick up. These handle scales really glow with color, detail and sharpness.
The engraving contrast is high and sharpness pushed a bit to see the detail there.
The Samuri background gives it a little whimsey to bring the whole picture to life.
And then there is of course, the knife.

Cell Phone week. Entries had to be taken on a cell phone.

Benr.t wins this week with a nice sharp image and careful staging. You would not know this image is from a cell phone just looking at it.
