I’ve been having major rotator cuff problems so this is my first post in a while. This is an 8 inch kitchen knife I made for my mom. The blade is 154 cm and the handle is koa. I did some rope firework on the spine. I made this with the help of gliden07’s file jig. Thanks a million 07! Let me know what you guys think.

Looks good Kevin. I'm sure your mother is really going to appreciate such a thoughtful gift. The Koa is beautiful.
Also..........hope that shoulder injury heals quickly!

Rotor cuffs are fun I had surgery on mine in 09 had a 1" gap and bicep torn off the bone rehab is slow don't rush it or you will have too start all over.

I’m not looking forward to the surgery at all. I hear negative reviews about the whole process, but I’m in way too much pain as it is. What really bites is that both of mine need the surgery.

The only problem I really had with surgery was the day I got out of the hospital my wife had too go get my Grandson and the drive kicked my butt I was in pain. But after all that things went smooth do wat the Doc says and move your shoulder around when you are allowed to because if you don't move it that thing will give you some pain when they move it for you.I walked in rehab and just took my block off and they were shocked.Get it done you will be glad you did.

Whaaaaaaaaaat no pics of the file work!!! Just a side shot to tease the crowd with!! What is this, gliden07’s file jig, don't recall ever hearing of it??

Mom will be proud!! You done well!!

Thanks CC!! When I go out to my moms I’ll get a pic of it. It came out pretty good, but my shoulders were hurting so bad that I couldn’t sand the top of the scales properly. So I had to do it on my grinder which sorta flattened the rope a little. Made me mad! Anyway, yeah gilden07 had a file jig ... imagine a huge lanskey. I asked him to sell it to me and he just up and gave it me. Sucka! Lol. He was paying it forward. When I get my grinder, I’m gonna do the same. I’m just waiting till they go on sale hahahaha.

Thanks for the info, Rick. I’m going to do it, but I sure don’t want to lol. This pain has whipped me down though.
